Morrow in the Omaha Monitor, exposing the pullman company refuses to arbitrate with the porters, although they had previous arbitration with the conductors. Randolph sees this as a definite ‘call to arms’. This was noncompliance with the Railway Labor act that states that all workers must enter arbitration to avoid strikes. The Company agreed to arbitration and then rescinded. He was struck on the passenger side of his car, by a southbound local passenger train. There are no details of his injuries. The train had probably just left the station on 10th street and according to the train engineer, was traveling at about 20 miles an hour.
