Alonzo Wilford was born in Illinois on September. 23. (Circa 1884). He was the son of Simon and Mattie Wilford. Alonzo had a three younger siblings sisters Edna and Arlene [Lorinia] (Dorsay) and brother Everett. His father was a janitor at a department store. He lived with his parents at 1920 S Street after he divorced his first wife. During this time the family also had a lodger Anna Wells who was a manicurist at a beauty parlor.
In 1920 he married Anna Wilford and two years later they had a one son Randolph V. Wilford. In 1927 they purchased a house at 821 South Street and lived there until 1930 when they purchased another home at 2024 Dudley Street that was valued at $3,500 in 1930. Alonzo was a Pullman Porter on the C.B & Q line from 1918-1930 and then became a brakeman for the company in 1936. He died October 23rd, 1936 and is buried in Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln Nebraska.
